It’s the 14th year that Vasona Park in Los Gatos, CA has opened their Fantasy of Lights show for Christmas time. From Highway 17, you can catch a glimpse of the lights show. Last year after dinner at La Fondue, we looked up the details to our disappointment that the show was over for the year.
The year, we planned it out properly, even with another couple. Other than the information available at Vasona Park’s website, I didn’t have much of an expectation other than it was $15 per car. This is what happened:
- It was over an hour wait in a line of cars on a Saturday night at approximately 7pm. The blue line shows the amount of stop and go traffic we had to wait through.
- Each car admission comes with 2 paper glasses (that makes lights look like Santa and snowmen figures).
- Drive through the park with you headlights off, which is not a problem. However you cannot get in and out of your car.
- Christmas lights are mostly pre-set figures (like Santa, snowmen, dinosaurs, etc) and sparsely set.
My overall impression of the Fantasy of Lights is it was not worth an hour wait. The only reason I would go back is if I had kids, who would like it a lot more.
